Camelot Homes Offers Affordable Luxury In New Classic Series

January 26, 2010

Amidst all the ominous tones prevalent in today’s economic attitude, Camelot Homes dares to show a gleam of hope with a drastic realignment of home designs—and yes, prices—at Taylor Glen in New Lenox. For the homeowner who battened down the hatches to weather America’s rough economic downturn and now returns to the dream of owning a custom built single family home, Camelot designed the Classic Series. This new lineup includes many of the features that separate a Camelot Home from all others, such as R-49 ceiling insulation with R-18 wall insulation, kitchen appliances, and hardwood flooring in the kitchen and foyer, and will include a partial basement. The big news, however, is the landscaping package. The Classic Series will be delivered fully sodded with shrubs, all included in the base price, and homeowners will even be able to choose from several landscape designs. If you’re thinking a custom built home in a prestigious lakefront community is still out of your reach, you may want to think again—these homes are slated to start from the $270s.

While the “Why?” is easy to answer—Camelot’s founding mission is to provide quality custom built homes for families in the best communities with award-winning schools—the “How?” is another matter entirely. “Today’s economy forced Camelot to take a long, hard look at what families need,” said Will Albright, the company’s Executive Vice President. “It took a lot of time and a lot of planning, but we are excited to be able to offer these homes at this price in New Lenox.”

The decision not to abandon Taylor Glen’s array of luxury custom homes, the Designer Series, didn’t come easily either. The homes are still being built, starting at the mid 300s, and will continue to include the long list of included amenities like granite tops, masonry fireplaces, and full basements. “Taylor Glen is a luxury community. The trend of offering affordable custom built homes will be an asset in that it is drawing families to the community who seek that upper-200s price point, but Camelot Homes is proud of all the Designer Series has to offer the upscale move-up buyer,” said Mark Kaup, President of Camelot Homes. Drawing on Camelot’s long history of building homes, Kaup is reminded daily of his father, the founding president of the company. Robert Kaup spearheaded a move by Camelot in the early 80s to offer homes that had been re-engineered, tweaking every detail to bring value to the buyer, at that time in Tinley Park. “My dad saw that what families needed was affordability, and rather than make a custom home out of their reach, he filled the need and kept our company moving when circumstance was less than ideal,” said Kaup.

To view the exciting new plans, visit Taylor Glen’s sales office, located at 2987 Taylor Glen Drive in New Lenox. Home to the brand new state-of-the-art Lincoln-Way West as well as award-winning elementary schools Nelson Ridge and Nelson Prairie, the town is a premier destination to raise a family. A strong sense of community defines New Lenox, and the village has worked hard to make the downtown Commons area a success by offering summertime concerts and other family activities. Camelot Homes followed through with this theme by designing a walking path to surround Lake Taylor as well as a residents’ park within the community.

Ever conscious of environmental awareness, the Classic Series will offer the same energy efficient 90-plus efficiency furnaces and hot water tanks that are included in the Designer series. Buyers can choose any of the premier home sites in the community to build a new home, and Taylor Glen’s well thought out streetscape lends itself to an air of family-friendly community and modernity. All homes will embody Camelot’s spirit of construction with integrity, like their plywood construction, and the functionality that has drawn families from the start. With the included landscaping, all that’s left is to move in and decorate your new home.

In addition to Taylor Glen, located approximately ¼ mile west of Cedar off of Delaney in New Lenox, Camelot Homes offers two additional new home developments—Rachel Ridge and Moonlight Estates. Rachel Ridge is located off of Laraway Road west of Schoolhouse Road in New Lenox, and Moonlight Estates boasts acre-plus homesites.
